Currencies

Qualis ERP's Currencies module lets small and mid-sized manufacturers manage the currencies they use on orders, invoices and costs, the single base currency everything is reported in, and the exchange rates used to convert between them. It lets a manufacturer buy in euros, sell in dirhams or dollars and still read every figure in one currency. The list comes preloaded with the full ISO 4217 set, with a few common currencies active by default, including the US dollar, euro, pound sterling and Moroccan dirham. Each currency has a code, name, symbol, symbol position, decimal digits and rounding factor, and only active currencies appear in dropdowns. The list is shared by every organization, and only the Qualis team edits it. An exchange rate stores a from and to currency, a rate, a rate date, a type (spot, average, buy or sell) and a source. Rates can be refreshed daily or weekly from public providers by a background job, or entered by hand. When an amount is recorded, Qualis uses the latest rate on or before the document date and locks the converted base amount, so past documents keep their value. An administrator sets the base currency once in Organization Settings, and it locks after the first money record. Finance staff add contract rates or correct the rate for a specific day. Currencies is always installed. Purchase Orders, Sales Orders and Invoicing store a document currency and its base currency value, Suppliers Management and Clients Management hold a default currency for new documents, and Non-Conformance Reports records defect costs in a chosen currency.
