Storage Locations

Qualis ERP's Storage Locations module lets small and mid-sized manufacturers map the physical places inside their warehouses where stock can sit, from a whole zone down to a single bin. Every stock move, count and inventory level points at one of these locations, so a precise map is what lets the system tell you exactly where a part is. Locations nest up to ten levels deep, so the tree mirrors the building: warehouse, zone, aisle, shelf, bin. A parent must sit in the same warehouse, and Qualis refuses any loop. The code and the full path, such as WHA/Stock/Zone A, are generated for you and update when a location higher up is renamed. Each location has a type: internal, production, virtual, customer, vendor, inventory loss or transit. A location can also be flagged as a quality-hold or quarantine area, so stock there stays on hand but is never reserved, delivered or sent to production. A few system locations, such as the inventory adjustment location, are managed by Qualis and cannot be edited or deleted. An inactive location cannot be used in new operations, which keeps its history intact. Deleting moves a location to the trash, and is refused while it has sub-locations, holds stock or is referenced by other records. Warehouse managers set up the layout once and adjust it as racks move. The tree view groups locations by warehouse, barcodes can be recorded for scanning, and each location's page shows its sub-locations and the stock it holds. Storage Locations depends on Warehouses. Stock Moves, Inventory Levels, Inventory Adjustments, Cycle Counts, Lots / Serial Numbers and Replenishment Rules all work at the location level.
