Warehouses

Qualis ERP's Warehouses module is where small and mid-sized manufacturers register each physical site that holds stock: a main plant store, a distribution center, a satellite depot. Purchase orders, storage locations, inventory levels and stock counts all point back to a warehouse, so it is one of the first records a manufacturer sets up. Each warehouse gets an automatic code, a name and a short name of 1 to 5 uppercase letters or digits that prefixes every storage location path inside it. Add an address, contact details, notes and a manager. One warehouse can be the default, which sales and manufacturing orders fall back on when none is named, and setting a new default clears the old one. The status is active, under maintenance, inactive or closed, and an inactive or closed warehouse takes no new locations, purchase orders or receipts. The create form can build a full set of locations for you: stock, receiving, shipping, QC inspection, quarantine, production floor and scrap, plus the locations used for adjustments, production, maintenance, vendor receipts and customer deliveries. A Receiving Readiness card then checks that every location needed to receive and inspect goods exists, and links to what is missing. Logistics managers create a warehouse when a site opens, then come back to assign a manager, fix an address or change the status. Every edit is kept in version history. Trashing a warehouse is refused while it holds stock or has open purchase orders, and its locations go to the trash with it. Warehouses is the root of the inventory structure. Storage Locations builds the layout inside each site, Inventory Levels totals stock by warehouse, and Purchase Orders deliver to a warehouse.
