Lots / Serial Numbers

Qualis ERP's Lots / Serial Numbers module gives small and mid-sized manufacturers a traceability record for each batch (lot) and each individual unit (serial number) of a tracked product. When a customer complains or a supplier recalls a batch, you need to know which lot it was, who supplied it, where it sits and whether it is still fit to use. Each record names its type, its product, the supplier and the supplier lot number, which must be unique for that product, plus an optional internal reference. Dates cover manufacturing, expiration, best before, removal and alert. The status is available, in use, consumed, expired or quarantined. On hand quantity and storage location are never typed: they come from stock moves, adjustments and scrap. A quarantined or expired lot cannot be delivered to a customer or issued to production, but it can still be relocated or scrapped. A scheduled job marks lots past their expiration date as expired, another sends an alert when a lot reaches its alert date, and events are published when a lot is quarantined, expires or nears expiry. Receiving clerks create records as stock arrives, or import a whole delivery by CSV with a row-by-row preview, processed in the background. Quality staff quarantine a suspect batch, and each record links to its stock moves, scrap orders and adjustments, with full version history. The module depends on Products, Storage Locations and Suppliers Management. Stock Moves, Inventory Levels and Inventory Adjustments carry lot and serial numbers, and when Manufacturing Orders is installed, a Genealogy tab traces which component lots went into which finished lots.
