Manufacturing Settings

Set organization-wide manufacturing defaults: order numbering, production locations, scheduling, costing method, backflush and shop-floor guard rails.
About this module
Manufacturing Settings in Qualis ERP is the single page where a small or mid-sized manufacturer sets how production behaves by default, so planners and engineers do not repeat the same choices on every order, bill of material or work center. It keeps numbering, locations, scheduling, costing and shop-floor rules consistent across the whole plant. The page is grouped into areas. Numbering sets the prefixes for manufacturing orders, work orders, bills of material, work centers and engineering change orders, plus the default revision code and whether revisions use letters or numbers. Production names the default production location, finished-goods warehouse and work center, each of which can be left to resolve automatically. Scheduling chooses forward or backward scheduling, finite capacity scheduling and a default work calendar for work centers without one. Costing sets the default method, Average, Standard or Actual, and whether cost rollups go single level or all levels. Execution covers material and labor backflush and the guard rails: allow over-completion, allow under-issue, include scrap in completions, auto-create scrap orders, allow release with shortage, inspect finished goods on receipt and require a change order to edit active bills of material. Administrators fill it in when manufacturing is first set up, then revisit it occasionally, for example to allow releases with shortages during a supply crunch. Everyone else can read the page, and a single save applies the change. Manufacturing Orders reads these defaults at creation and release. BOM & Routing uses the revision scheme and the change order lock, Work Centers uses the prefix and calendar, Scrap Orders receives automatic scrap, and inspected receipts go to Inspections.
