Scrap Orders

Qualis ERP's Scrap Orders module lets small and mid-sized manufacturers take damaged, defective, expired or otherwise unusable stock out of inventory with a reason, a value and a full audit trail. It stops write-offs from disappearing into manual quantity corrections that nobody can explain at month end. A scrap order covers one product, a quantity, a source location and a reason: Damaged, Defective, Expired, Contaminated, Obsolete, Quality Reject or Other with details. For lot or serial tracked products you pick the exact lot or serial, and a serial locks the quantity to one and fills in its location. The destination defaults to a virtual Scrap location so destroyed stock never counts as available again. Qualis assigns the reference, works out the total value from the product cost and saves the order as a Draft. Executing it is a separate, final step: the source location must hold enough unreserved stock, the quantity is removed and a linked stock move records the loss. An executed order can no longer be edited, and its version history shows who did what and when. Warehouse staff raise a scrap order when a crate is crushed in the rack or a lot passes its expiry date, and attach a photo or quality report from the document library. The list shows quantity and value scrapped this month. The Replenish Quantities option alerts buyers to reorder what was lost. Scrap orders use Products, Storage Locations and Stock Moves, and Lots / Serial Numbers when tracking applies. When your organization requires it, execution goes through Approval Workflows first. When the option is on, Manufacturing Orders creates scrap orders automatically from scrap reported on the shop floor.
