BOM & Routing

Define each product's bill of material and routing in one document, with phantoms, revisions, where-used search and standard cost rollup.

About this module

Qualis ERP's BOM & Routing module lets small and mid-sized manufacturers define how each product is built: the components it consumes, the operations it goes through and the work center where each step happens, all in a single bill of material. Keeping materials and routing in one document removes the classic gap between an engineering parts list and the shop-floor process sheet. Each bill of material has a revision, a type (Manufacturing, Planning, Alternate or Phantom), a status (Draft, Active or Obsolete), effectivity dates and an expected yield. Operations carry setup and run times, crew size, efficiency, control points with labor and material backflush, and an optional outside process sent to a supplier. Material lines sit inside the operation that consumes them, so components are issued exactly where they are needed. A product can have one default bill of material per site. The multi-level view expands sub-assemblies and switches to a costed view with the total rolled cost. Engineers use it to write and revise bills, often by copying an existing revision. Before changing a part, they run Where Used, direct or multi-level, to see every parent it affects. Cost accountants start a cost rollup for one product or a whole site, review the buildup by material, labor, machine and overhead, then apply it as the new standard cost. Change component swaps a part across many bills at once. Released bills can be locked behind engineering change orders, with approval, scheduled effectivity and links to a Non-Conformance Report or a CAPA. Bills draw on Products, Units of Measure, Work Centers and Suppliers, and Manufacturing Orders freezes a copy of the active bill at release.

Events published

eco.appliedA change order reached production: the new revision is now the one manufacturing builds, and the one it replaced has retired
eco.apply-failedAn attempt to take a change order to production was rolled back and is waiting for a retry
eco.rejectedAn approver sent a change order back to its author
