Products
Build and manage your product catalog: the items you make, buy, and sell.
Last updated on June 23, 2026
The Products module is your catalog of items: everything you manufacture, purchase, or sell. Almost every other module references products, so a clean catalog is the foundation of a healthy system.
What you can do
- Create products with units of measure, packaging, and classification.
- Mark items as sellable, purchasable, or both.
- Track inventory for an item, or leave it untracked for services.
- Attach images and documents that travel with the product everywhere.
Create a product
- Open Products from the sidebar and click New product.
- Fill in the required fields, marked with an asterisk.
- Choose the unit of measure and, if relevant, the packaging.
- Set whether the item is for sale, for purchase, and whether to track inventory.
- Click Save. You are taken to the product's detail page.
Attachments are only uploaded after you submit the form. If saving fails, nothing is left behind in storage, and your input is preserved so you can try again.
Key fields
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Product number | The unique code used across the system |
| Name | The human readable label shown in tables and selects |
| Unit of measure | How quantities of this item are counted |
| Track inventory | Whether stock levels are maintained for this item |
| For sale / For purchase | Where the item is available in sales and purchasing |
Find products elsewhere
Wherever another module needs an item, it uses the standard product selector, which is searchable, clearable, and loads more results as you scroll:
Search by product number or name, then select.
Permissions
Actions on products follow the standard permission model. For example, creating requires the products:create permission. If you lack a permission you will see the action disabled with a tooltip explaining what is needed, unless you are acting on a record you created yourself.
