Navigating the App

The sidebar, command palette, search, and how to move between modules.

Qualis is designed so you spend less time clicking and more time working. This guide covers the four ways you move around the app.

The sidebar

The left sidebar lists every module you have enabled, grouped by category (Quality, Inventory, Sales, and so on). Categories collapse and expand, and the module you are currently viewing is highlighted. Switching modules never reloads the page, so navigation stays instant.

The command palette

The command palette is the fastest way to get anywhere. Open it with:

Cmd K   (macOS)
Ctrl K  (Windows / Linux)

Start typing and the palette will surface:

  • Navigation to any module or page.
  • Records matching your search across enabled modules.
  • Actions such as "Create product" or "New purchase order".

Tips

  • You do not need to press Enter while typing. Results filter as you type.
  • Use the arrow keys to move through results and Enter to select.

Global search looks across your data, not just page names. It respects your permissions, so you only ever see records you are allowed to read.

Every detail page shows a breadcrumb trail so you always know where you are, and a top app bar with the entity title, icon, and the actions available to you. There is no separate back button in the top bar because the breadcrumb already provides one.
